Erin Cartee works in borosilicate glass from her studio in Asheville, North Carolina. Since 1999 she has shaped flame-worked pendants, opals, fumed surfaces, and sculptural objects drawn from nature, cosmic imagery, and the optical qualities of glass itself.

Fire, metal, light

Every piece begins as molten possibility — transformed through flame, precious-metal fuming, and the refractive depth of borosilicate glass.

Heat becomes structure.

Each piece begins as clear borosilicate, worked by hand in a concentrated flame. Precious-metal fuming and opal are layered into the glass before light reveals the finished interior world.
